The log-splitting machine has a table which can be freed from the column to allow height adjustment to suit the operator and the size of log handled. The table can have a tilting mechanism discharging it after the splitting operation is complete. Rams on each side of the table move it in the transverse direction. The design avoids the operator having to work at the same height all the time.
