Clasp for fastening two straps - consists of male piece and flexible plastics female piece with tongue and cavity

The clasp is used for joining the ends of two straps, such as a crash helmet or rucksack straps. It consists of a male piece (2) on one end, and a female piece (3) on the other end. The female piece is made of plastics which is flexible. It has at least one tongue (20) protruding from its outer surface, and covering a cavity (14) into which part of the tongue (8) of the male part (2) projects. There is a slight play between each tongue (20) and the bottom of the cavity (14) which it covers.
