Located in the housing (1) of the mixing valve is a cup-shaped insert, to the bottom (8) of which is fastened non-rotatably a first control disc (11), on which is displaceably and rotatably mounted a second control disc (16) fastened to a guide part (20) rotatable by means of a grip (27) and having a recess (21). Moreover, the second control disc (16) is linearly displaceable by means of a sliding block (29) fastened to an actuating shank. As a result of the rotation of the second control disc (16) by means of the grip (27), the cold water and hot water entering via conduits (5) are mixed and the temperature in the mixed-water conduit (6) is thereby adjusted, whilst the quantity of the mixed water in the conduit (6) can be varied by rotating the actuating shank. Along with the possibility of exact adjustment, this design achieves a more compact and therefore cheaper form of construction. <IMAGE>
