Title amines[I,R = Me, Et; R1 = H,F,C1,iodo,Br, cyano,Me,NO2,CF3;R2 and R5 are independently H, F, C1, Br, NO2, Me,CF3(only one of R2 and R5 is NO2); R3 and R4 are independently H,Me,F,Cl,Br,CF3 , useful as an intermediate in the prepn. of rodenticides, were prepd. from anilines(II) and 2-halo-5-nitrobenztrtifluoride(III, X = halogen) followed by alkylation. Thus, 2-chloro-5-nitro-benzotrifluoride were treated with p-toluidine and NaH to give 4-methy1-4'-nitro-2'-trifluoromethyldiphenylamine.
