<p>The zone enclosed by gauzes between the hub and the outer rim of a filter element having the form of a disk mounted on a rotary shaft through the bore of which the filtrate is drained, is divided into a least three sectors by spoke-like partitions. Each sector is connected to the inside of the hub by two drain pipes which extend close to the axis of the hollow shaft, and the redn. in the wt. of the filtrate beneath the surface of the bath being filtered prevents the breaking off of the filter cake by reversed flow, and the efficiency of the machine is improved generally.</p> |
