The method comprises applying a coloured mass to a substrate in the form of a pattern, applying the beads to the still incompletely dried coloured mass, then removing the nonadhering, i.e. surplus, beads, and finally drying the bead-containing mass. The beads are preferably introduced into the mass using heat. By virtue of this method it is possible to obtain products where the beads show optimum reflectivity.
