<p>The invention provides an arrangement for driving the hose-carrying drum of a device for sprinkling large areas with fluid, comprising a working piston reciprocatable in a working cylinder and which is arranged to be acted upon by the fluid under pressure, a timing piston reciprocatable in a timing cylinder and arranged to be acted upon by fluid pressure through a pressure-reducing valve such that the duration of the stroke of the timing piston remains substantially constant as the load or the drum varies, a control member for determining the direction of applied pressure to both the cylinders, said control member being coupled to the timing piston such that said direction is only changed when the timing piston reaches the end of its stroke.</p> |
