PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and high precision ultrasonic current meter by burying a bulkhead to obstruct a direct wave between ultrasonic wave transmitter and receiver buried in the head of an enclosure without projecting therefrom. CONSTITUTION:Paired ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver oscillating elements 11a and 11b... crossed at right angles with each other symmetrically on the head of a metallic enclosure 10a, a bulkhead 12 is provided on the head to obstruct an ultrasonic direct wave between the oscillating elements 11a and 11b..., and only an ultrasonic reflecting wave from a reflecting plate 13 is received accordingly. These elements 11a and 11b... and the bulkhead 12 are buried in the head of the enclosure 10 with a rubber 10b covering an outer periphery of an enclosure 10a, which is effective not to cause a turbulent flow on a fluid and also not to cause a deformation or displacement on the elements 11a and 11b... by the fluid. According to this constitution, the speed of current can be measured stably and at high precision. |
