Title compd. (I; Het = aromatic heterocyclic group having 2 N atoms; R = halogen, C1-4 alkyl or alkoxycarbonyl) was prepd. by the reaction of phosphorus pentasulfide and heterocyclic compd. (II; R2 = halogen, C1-4 alkoxycarbonyl or alkyl; R3 = C1-4 alkyl). Thus, 54.7 g ethyl-2-butyl-3(pyrazin-2-yl)-3-oxopropionate and suspension of phosphorus pentasulfide in toluene were heated at 110≦̸C for 1 hr, followed by addition of satd. aq. soln. of methylene chloride and sodium bicarbonate to give 3.1 g 4-butyl-5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1,2-dithiol-3-thione(m.p. 72≦̸C).
