The endless conveyors (1) in the filter press are fitted with side edges (2) each having a square section and made from foam rubber or equivalent material. The filter press has two endless belts (1) operating in between end pulleys (5) as well as stretcher jockery wheels. The side edges provide additional sealing along the edges partic. in the compression areas where the product is likely to overflow side ways out of the press. The edges are covered with an external strip which is also made from flexible material.
