The coaxial coupler comprises parallel primary and secondary flat linear elements (1,2) forming a central conductor in a rectangular waveguide (30), and forming with the waveguide primary and secondary coupled coaxial lines. An electromagnetic wave injected at one end of the primary line has its major portion received at the opposite end with the remainder coupled to the secondary line. The width of the primary element and surrounding waveguide portion, and each element has two portions, respectively of greater and small length than Y/4. Over a frequency range of 4-8GNz the coupling is typically -42.8dB, variation over the range being +- 0.2 dB and directivity being more than 17 dB.
|
