Assorted articles, partic. suitcases, are held in position in the boot (1), of e.g. a car, boat or aeroplane by a band (7) which is wound onto a reel (6), having a constant rewind bias, mounted in the boot itself. The end of the band attached one of several suitably separated points on the perimeter (8) of the boot. The reel is pref. mounted between the two ends of a support (11) having an opening to allow the band to unfurl. The reel is biased by a spiral spring one end of which is attached to the support and the other end of which is attached to the end of the reel.
