Surface properties of shaped vinyl! chloride polymer - modified by mixing UV absorber, shaping and irradiating it

Surface properties of a shaped article of vinyl chloride polymer are modified by mixing at least 0.005 wt.% of U.V. absorber with the polymer. The polymer compsn. is fabricated into a shaped article and irradiated with U.V. light predominantly of wavelength 200 nm or shorter. Exudation of plasticiser is prevented, even during long periods of outdoor use of an article.
