<p>The opening window uses roller hinges (21) to secure one edge, and is stabilised by pin-jointed stays (30). The arrangement permits pivoting through 150 degrees to permit external face cleaning, and the sash frame (11) is reversible by moving rollers to the opposite edge. The abutting edges of the frame (12) and sash (11) have longitudinal dovetail section grooves, with frame post grooves locating the wheels of the runners (22). Pins form the top edge sash fulcrum, cantilevering from the runners to enter bored slides locked in a sash groove The stays are pinned to slides which are fixed in a groove (G) at the mid height of the sash posts (18). Clearance between the sash and the frame accommodates the stays and is taken up by compressible seals (17).</p> |
