The spotlamp has bulb fitted into a socket at the centre of a rear parabolic reflector across which a protective glass is fitted. The reflector has an integral outer skirt projecting backwards around all sides of the reflector and to which the mounting socket for the spotlamp is secured. A removable rim fits over the edge of the glass and the outer skirt and acts as a protective shield for the rear face of the reflector. Pref. the reflector is made of a moulded plastics material and comprises a dished central part forming the reflective surface and inner and outer peripheral skirts joined by a collar lying in a plane set back slightly from the front edge of the control part.
