<p>The masking strip is used to cover the joints in floor coverings such as carpet, at door openings. It comprises a uniformly wide metal strip with transverse (2) and longitudinal precamber (5), screwed or bonded in place. Its transverse and longitudinal sections are part circular, its elasticity and geometry inhibiting tendencies to curl up at the edges (3,4). The convex surface (1) is uppermost when the strip is installed, and the strip may be of stainless steel with a strength of 80 to 95 Kg per square mm.</p> |
