Hinge for articulated rod - has deformable locating projection which passes through hole in cooperating plate

The hinge is made from a cylindrical rod (4), on one side of which a recess is machined, bounded, longitudinally by the curved shoulders (7,8). One end of a plate (2) is cut to a corresponding shape and fits into the recess. A projection (15) in the bottom of the recess fits into a hole (16), cut out of the plate (2) between its edges (7A,8A), and is of a greater height than the thickness of the plate. When assembled, the projection (15) is deformed to secure the plate in position.
