The foldaway bed can be swung from a horizontal to a vertical position and vice versa, for use and storage, and consists of two parallel side sections (1,2) hinged together. Each section comprises a support piece (3) fixed onto a fixed structure, such as a wall, and a swinging structure (8) hinged onto the support (3). The two side sections are attached to (9) a plywood panel constituting the base of the bed. The support and swinging structure have a stop piece; between the support and swinging structure is a pneumatic spring (12).
