PURPOSE:To improve workability, responsiveness, durability, etc., and obtain an ion selective electrode of high sensitivity by fusing a hardly soluble salt then forming this to a suitable shape then mounting a lead wire thereto. CONSTITUTION:For example, at the time of using AgCl which is hard to dissolve in a sensitive film for a chlorine electrode, a mixture 3 of Ag2S 1 to AgCl 9 is put into a glass cylinder 2 of the same quality erected on a heat-resistant glass plate and is fused in a furnace. Before the mixture 3 solidifies, a lead wire 4 of Ag is inserted into the melt, thence the melt is cooled to solidify. The glass plate 1 is then removed and this completes the chlorine electrode. In this way the contact resistance of the lead wire is made constant to have no secular change and since it is stronger than that made by pressing and solidifying powder, it permits cutting work, and since sticking of bubbles on the electrode surface to make ion flow diffucult does not occur, the fluctuations in electrode potential are eliminated. |
