PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of permanently obtaining an excellent image without damaging an image carrier even though the image is continuously formed over a long term while the transfer material is stably separated from the image carrier by controlling the potential of transfer material. SOLUTION: In an image forming device; a toner image formed on the image carrier is transferred to the transfer material 9 by a transfer means 8, and the transfer material to which the image is transferred is separated from the image carrier by impressing voltage on a separation means 5. The device is provided with a means 6 for detecting the potential of the transfer material and the potential of the image carrier after separation, a means 18 for obtaining a detection difference being a difference between the potential of the transfer material and the potential of the image carrier after separation, which are detected, and a storage means 19 for storing a difference current impressed on the separation means and the function of the difference between the potential of the transfer material and the potential of the image carrier. The appropriate applied voltage on the separation means is decided from the correspondence of the detection difference and the function stored in the storage means. |
