A power saving method and apparatus for a communication device, which fall within the field of communications. The method comprises: before a communication device loads a version program, it is judged whether power saving processing needs to be performed, and if the result of the judgement is yes, the communication device does not load the version program. In the above-mentioned technical solution, when it is determined that power saving processing needs to be performed, not only related high efficiency components are switched off while the interior is still in a running state, instead, before the version program is loaded, if it is necessary to save power, a corresponding version program is not loaded, so that the communication device can be kept in a minimum power consumption state, thereby avoiding unnecessary energy consumption. Further, when all cells under a single baseband board in the communication device save power, a radio frequency unit in the corresponding communication device is reset, the single baseband board is de-energized and a corresponding transmission link is disconnected, modules are triggered to enter a deep power saving state, thereby realising the power saving of the communication device, and improving the core competitiveness of products. |
