PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new cosmetic or pharmaceutical active ingredients for more effectively preventing dry skin, disorders of the barrier function and/or development of fragility of the epidermis.SOLUTION: There is provided a natural or synthetic isolated polypeptide, belonging to the family of late proteins of the cornified envelope (LCE), the polypeptide being selected from specific amino acid sequences or fragments of the sequences having at least one glutamine (Gln)-lysine (Lys) domain, and analogs of the specific amino acid sequences or fragments thereof having at least one glutamine (Gln)-lysine (Lys) domain.SELECTED DRAWING: None
