The house comprises a base assembled from modules fitted together and with a central square section (2) with a peripheral fringe (8) at a slightly lower level. The central section is composed of square and the fringe of rectangular modules. Other modules (12) form diagonal portions at the four corners, and have notches by which they are coupled to those of the central section, mounted on diagonal brackets (17) extending beyond them. The extending portions of the brackets are of increased height, to be level with the fringe surface. A set of peripheral tie bars fitting in grooves formed in the outside surfaces of the fringe modules enclose these and the base completely, apart from the corner brackets, compressing them together.
