The invention relates to a chain guard which can be adjusted to a pedal bearing with one or more toothed discs, having connection devices which are arranged regularly on a circumference. The chain guard is characterised in that, on a circular flange (1) made of plastic, devices are formed which project radially on the surface of one side in the form of pins with a profiled centring head (1<2>) which is diametrically split at (1<3>) in order to permit the said head to adjust automatically by means of clips into corresponding through-holes (A<1>) which are arranged in the outer toothed disc (A) of the pedal bearing, in particular in the thickness of its radial legs (A<2>), in order to permit it to be centred and set transversely for the chain to pass through. <IMAGE>
