PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for electronically steering an antenna system.SOLUTION: The method and apparatus for electronically steering an antenna system are provided. A surface wave is propagated along each of a plurality of surface wave channels formed in each of a plurality of radiation elements for forming a radiation pattern. Each of the plurality of surface wave channels formed in each of the plurality of radiation elements is connected to a transmission line configured to carry a high frequency signal by using one surface wave feed among a plurality of surface wave feeds relating to the plurality of radiation elements A main lobe of the radiation pattern is electronically steered by controlling a voltage to be applied to a plurality of switch elements connecting a plurality of impedance elements on each of the plurality of surface wave channels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
