PURPOSE:To stabilize the charging quantity of a toner, improve the dispersibility, prevent whitening, etc. and increase the recording density by using carbon black having a specified surface active hydrogen content as a colorant for the toner. CONSTITUTION:Carbon black having 15.0X10<-5>-30.0X10<-5>mole/g surface active hydrogen (H of OH and COOH grous) content is used as a colorant for a toner consisting of resin and the colorant. The resulting toner has superior positively charging properties, contains uniformly dispersed carbon black, gives high-image density, and causes no white spot in a solid black part. |
