<p>PURPOSE:To perform aeration as well as settling and separation of activated sludge with the settling tank alone by providing a device by which high-concn. gaseous oxygen is contacted with and absorbed into part of the liquid in an activated sludge settling tank and a device by which a sewage is flowed in said tank. CONSTITUTION:Part of the liquid in the tank body is taken into the chamber 44 below a duct 4 through the take-in port 41 of an oxygen supplying device 3, after which it enters an inside cylinder 52 through a chamber 55 and a communicating port 57. High concn. gaseous oxygen is dispersed and absorbed in small bubbles into the liquid in the cylinder 52 from an air diffusing pipe 58, and gives gushing and soaring force to the liquid. Then, the liquid ascends in the cylinder 52, overflows from the top end there of and flows into a chamber 43. Thence, this liquid flows in the longitudinal directionof the duct 4 on a partition wall 42, and flows into a settler 6 through an opening 45. During this time, the bubbles contained in the liquid are separated, and the liquid is returned from a directing pipe 62 into the tank body.</p> |
