PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for dummy cycles, and make instantaneous starting possible by performing destaticizing in the leading end part of the copying area of a photoreceptor after lapse of at least a specific time after the start of operation of a destaticizer. CONSTITUTION:The position on a photoreceptor corresponding to the leading end part of the 1st sheet of a copy at the start of operation of a destaticizer is so set as to come forward by at least T/10 time than the position of a destaticizing Corotron 5 in the relation with the discharging time constant T of the destaticizing Corotron, for example, to the position of LE(2). Thereby, the good copy of uniform image quality having no differences from the 2nd and subsequent sheets is obtained from the 1st sheet without providing any dummy cycle. |
