<p>The machine produces base nets for various types of seats, particularly those used in vehicles. It has a number of reels off which suitable lengths of chain strand (101-104) are pulled and then held in a horizontal plane while weft wires (105) from a transverse reel are passed through perforations in the middle strands before being cut and wound round the outside ones. This operation is repeated until the desired length of net is produced. The outside strands (101,102), which are of metal encased in sheaths, are then folded into the desired shape. The weft wire ends can be cut into sharp points to allow easy piercing of the middle strands, which can be formed by plastic tubes.</p> |
