PURPOSE:To permit retry only where failure occured despite the detection of an error during data transfer vy providing an error waiting register, and holding the channel control information before data transfer. CONSTITUTION:An action means 9 performing data transfer, an action information holding means 10 holding information necessary for data transfer, a result means 11 transmitted with the results of data transfer and a waiting information holding means 8 holding the information before the data transfer are provided to a main storage control means. When an error exists in the transfer data, the channel control information after the data transfer is corrected based on the information before the data transfer having been held in the means 8 and this corrected channel controlling information is transferred to the channel controlling information holding means. |
