PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of creeping electric discharge and improve the recovery efficiency of a toner by removing at least part of the stuck toner layer formed between electrodes and maintaining the resistance between the electrodes at above the prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:A part opposing to a counter electrode 6 constituted of a conductor is formed as a conductor part 5a, and insulator parts 5b are formed at both ends thereof and are pivotally supported freely rotatably by a supporting body 11. When high voltage V is applied between the electrodes 5 and 6, the toner having been charged positive sticks on the part 5a and further the parts 5b. However, part of the parts 5b are in sliding contact with a blade 7 and therefore the toner accumulated on the parts 5b is scraped off at all times. Hence, a stuck toner layer 12 is prevented from bridging between the counter electrode 6 and the part 5a of an electrode roller 5, and the part between both electrodes is maintained always in a high resistance state and at a prescribed resistance value. The creeping distance between both electrodes is made correspondinly longer by providing the parts 5b, and this is helpful in making breakdown voltage substantially higher. |
