MULTICHANNEL RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE:To eliminate the rewriting of the discriminating signal and thus to prevent an error during the synchronous recording or punch in/out editing which is independent with every channel, by recording the rewritable discriminating signal with every channel and on the same track as the data of the corresponding channel. CONSTITUTION:The digital signal containing the control bit showing an on-off of emphasis is supplied to an encoder 4 via an input circuit 3 to produce the signal containing a flag bit functioning as a discriminating signal that shows whether a data is emphasized in the data synchronous signal positioned at the head of each block of a PCM data. This discriminating signal is distributed by a demultiplexer 7 to the data track of each channel and based on each format and then recorded by a recording head HR after a modulation 9. In such way, the rewritable discriminating signal is recorded on the same track as the PCM data of the corresponding channel. Thus the rewriting of the discriminating signal can be eliminated to prevent the occurrence of an error during the synchronous recording or punch in/out editing which is independent with every channel.
