The door of a dish washer is fitted with a finishing panel, using a device comprising hinges having two plates. One of the plates attaches to the door, and the other to the panel. The two plates are joined by a hinge pivot, and their opening angle is limited, so that on opening the machine, the finishing panel moves slightly away from the door, and its lower edge is transferred into the recessed zone at the base of the machine. In the closed position, the panel is held against the door by springs. The springs provide a method for compensating for the weight of the door panels. The springs contain a series of hooks each of which can be selected for attaching to the predetermined part of the door.
