An a.c. voltage Vo of constant frequency Fo equal to 400 Hz and of constant amplitude vo is generated at the terminals of a load 1 from a shaft 2 rotating at variable speed. An alternator 4 is used of frequency F1 between 1000 and 3000 Hz, the field 3 of which is driven by shaft 2 and is excited by a d.c. voltage linked to vo and the six-phase armature stator 5 contains star-connected windings each having tappings (a1, a2, a3; b1 ... f3). These tappings are connected to a filter 6 which feeds the load through rectifiers (R1+... R3-) and switches (A1+ ... A3-) successively, the successive closings of which are controlled in accordance with a cycle of frequency Fo. Preferred application of the invention is supplying on-board equipment on an aircraft from the shaft of an engine powering said aircraft. <IMAGE> |
