PURPOSE:To raise the storage stability of colored picture by using a specific diphenolcarboxylic acid derivative as a developer in a heat-sensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of a heat-sensitive recording sheet by a procedure in which a colorless color former and a light color former are separately mixed with a binder and ground in a solvent not dissolving them to form respective dispersions and then the dispersions are coated on a supporter and dried, as a developer a specific diphenolcarboxylic acid derivative or alkyl ester of the formula (where R1 and R2 are each H, a halogen, or cyclohexyl group, X is H or a C1- C8 alkyl group, and n1 and n2 are 0 or 5), e.g., 3,3-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)butanoic acid, 4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid, etc., is used. The use of the compounds having low melting points greatly cuts down on the amount of auxiliary agents, e.g., a melting point-lowering agent, etc., and also makes the storage stability of colored pictures better. |
