PURPOSE:To positively prevent a blade from being floated from glass surface by wind pressure in high speed travelling of a vehicle by applying force to a spring pressing the blade against the glass surface in the direction approximately perpendicular to the spring so as to increase selectively the press force of the blade. CONSTITUTION:An arm stem 2 is pivotably connected to an arm head 1 connected to a drive shaft in a wiper arm constituting a wiper device. An end of a spring 4 disposed on said stem 2 is mounted on said head 1 through a hook 3 to pull the stem 2 and an arm piece 5 at the other end of the spring 4 and thereby press a blade rubber at an end of the piece 5 against the glass surface. Then, a solenoid 6 is provided in the upper portion of the stem 2 on the vertical line at the connection between the hook 3 and the spring 4. Thus, when a switch 8 is closed, the solenoid 6 is magnetized to properly depress a rod 7 so that the spring 4 and others are pressed against the glass surface to increase the press force of the blade. |
