The device has a stationary pinching jaw (15) and a pinching jaw (19) which can be moved by means of an actuating device, in the case of which the two pinching jaws (15, 19) are aligned parallel to one another and are curved in a convex shape on the mutually facing sides, transversely with respect to their longitudinal axes. In order that a pinched tube can be reformed back to its original shape using such a device, it is provided that circular pressing shells (28, 33) can be connected to the pinching jaws (15, 19), which pressing shells (28, 33) are aligned with their concave inner sides towards one another and transversely with respect to the longitudinal axes of the pinching jaws (15, 19). <IMAGE>
