Polyester and acetate fibers and the polyester component in polyester-cellulosic blends are printed and dyed fast, bright bluish red shades by applying I, fixing, removing excess I by heating in aq. 0.2% NaOH contg. 0.2 % nonionic surfactant for 10 min at 85≦̸C, rinsing, and drying. I may be combined with a reactive dye to print polyester-cotton textiles, using the same washing off procedure, to give bright bluish red prints with excellent reserve on the white unprinted portions.
