Rock dumping method onto sloping underwater bank - transports across shallow-draught barge from main barge further out

The method is used to deposit rock material onto the sloping underwater surfaces of banks, using a dumping barge lying clear of the bank at some distance and facing along it. The rock is delivered (3) in a continuous stream from this barge (1) over its deck in the athwartships direction, and onto a second dumping barge (5) of appreciably shallower draught, between the bank and the first one, and lying alongside the latter. From the second barge further conveyors transport the rock across its deck and deposit it on the sloping bank (10).
