摘要 <p>The device is used to secure the matrix (1) of a metal forging machine which provides matrix-bearing surfaces (3) on a matrix-holder (6). The matrix-holder is also equipped with stirrups (9) which are secured by bolts and use profiled projections projections located by complementary formations on both the matrix and the holder. The bearing srface is cylindrical and is concentric with the working face (2) of the matrix, being centred on the forging axis (4). The complementary surfaces of the stirrup projections, the matrix and the holder have a conical form of which the axis is parallel to the forging axis, the apices of the cones being located outside the matrix. The bearing interface (3) may include a tongue and a groove which align parallel to the forging axis and which are assembled by a parallel key.</p>
