A woven stringer tape (6) is formed of foundation wrap & weft threads (5), and has a row of interconnected loops (8) woven into a woven filament section forming the tape edge. Each loop has a coupling head (15), upper & lower legs (10, 9) and heels (16). Binding wraps (11, 12) extend in parallel over the upper legs & alternately over & underlie the foundation weft. A binding weft thread is interlaced with the binding wraps in a common plane defined by the upper surfaces of the upper legs, and loops around the foundation weft interiorly of the heels. The binding weft passes around a binding wrap adjacent the heads & over the upper legs, alternately over & underlying the binding wraps between loops.
