A description is given of a camera and, in particular, of a camera having an electromagnetic device which controls the closing operation of the shutter in accordance with the expiry of the shutter interval. In this type of camera, if the battery voltage is not adequate the electromagnetic device cannot be driven when the exposure time is at an end, as a result of which the shutter is not closed although an "out of service signal" has been produced by the electric shutter control circuit. This throws up the problem that the shutter remains open. With regard to this point, the present invention has succeeded in providing a camera with a device which renders it possible to prevent an extended period when the shutter remains open if there is a drop in battery voltage below the adequate working value during the exposure time; the shutter mechanism is forcibly recocked for this purpose.
