PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of thermal energy to be incurred in taking out melted waste matters from a melting furnace by taking measures to cut off the furnace from the atmosphere with the melted waste matters per se which are left cooled and hardened. CONSTITUTION:Waste matters from a waste matters supply and storage section 1 are led to a melting chamber 3 which is provided with a combustion burner 2, filling a circular supply route R and descending on their own weight. Melted waste matters and exhaust gas are discharged via a passage 4 into a closed space S, with the latter being let out via a flue 5 from an exhauster 6. The melted waste matters are then cooled by a water-cooling jacket 7 and left stalled by cooled and hardened matters supported by a supporter 9 which is adjustable vertically via a cylinder 8. The melted waste matters left stalled in this way cut off the closed space S from the atmosphere. Then, the melted waste matters are led downward via the descending motion of the cylinder 8, and the lower cooled and hardened matters are sent to a cutting device 11 to be recovered into a recovery tank 13 via a pusher 12. |
