<p>The high tension probe is intended to operate in the region of 100kv and 100 MHz, and includes a coaxial line comprising an outer cylinder (1) and an inner core (2) insulated by sulphur hexafluoride gas. The line is terminated at one end by a matched load (4) and has a branch (5) joining it from one side. The side branch carries a coupling electrode (8) which ends in the line near to its core. The electrode is adjustable in its position relative to the core, being movable in small steps. It is supported by passing through the centre of a cap (6) which is threaded on to the side branch. The line also has a valve (9) for the introduction of gas and an external manometer (11) to indicate the pressure inside.</p> |
