12 PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost, highly interchangeable magnetic recorder and reproducer, by storing a control signal which is applied to a head position displacing means so that a magnetic head runs on a reference track correctly, and by performing tracking by using the said signal. CONSTITUTION:A head position displacing means supports a rotary head 1 on a rotary drum with a support arm 2 made of a piezoelectric element. A means 20, on the other hand, generates and stores a control signal which is applied to the said head position displacing means so that a tape with a reference recording track is scanned by a magnetic recorder and reproducer, the magnetic head 1 runs on the reference track correctly. During the recording and reproduction of the magnetic tape by the magnetic recorder and reproducer, the control signal from the storing means 20 is inputted to the head position displacing means to perform the tracking of the magnetic head 1. |
