Container of plastic-coated cardboard having an upper closure of "gable type" which is conventionally utilised for commercial containers for milk, with the exception that the "roof" is flat and generally rectangular relative to the longitudinal axis of the container, such that the gable is thus eliminated for that reason. The protruding sealing ridge at the centre of the roof is folded down and fastened to one of the roof faces. The fastening is reduced in at least one area at the centre of the ridge but preferably inside of its outer edge. Even if a reliable bonding is thus achieved in its flattened out state, the ridge may easily be folded back to a vertical position for opening of the container, and the edges forming a pouring lip after the opening of the container, are protected from dirt and other contaminations. <IMAGE> |
