Pressure control valve with an inlet channel (22, 122) and an outlet channel (24, 124) arranged downstream of the inlet channel and with a valve seat (45, 145) arranged between the inlet channel and the outlet channel and having a valve-closing arrangement (47, 147) which is balanced relative to the inlet pressure and moves between an open and a closed position with respect to the valve seat only as a function of the outlet pressure. The valve-closing arrangement comprises a valve plate (48, 148) with an upstream face (50, 150) exposed to the inlet pressure and a downstream face (52, 152) exposed to the outlet pressure, the downstream face striking against the valve seat when the valve-closing arrangement is in the closed position. The valve plate is connected to a flexible diaphragm (38, 138). The closing arrangement is prestressed in the direction of the open position with a certain force, as a result of which the upstream face strikes against the valve seat when the outlet pressure on the downstream face exceeds a certain value. It is therefore impossible for the pressure in the outlet channel to exceed the predetermined force with which the arrangement is prestressed. <IMAGE>
