<p>Surf boards, sail boards etc. are secured to the sides of a motor or sailing boat in the manner of lifeboats. A system of supports can be attached to the conventional deck rails (11) and their uprights (10). Each end of the board (2) is retained between two vertical cradles (1) so that it is supported on edge, parallel with the rails. Each cradle has resilient buffers on its inside surfaces to protect the board, and can be secured by an elongated clip secured by hooks on its outside surfaces. Each cradle can consist of a fixed U-shaped frame with a hinged arm across the top which can be swung upwards to enable the board to be lifted. Alternatively the V-shaped frame itself can consist of hinged arm and a hinged top, all of which can be swung open.</p> |
