A fork-lift truck has an electronic control device for the lifting movement of the fork and the tilting movement of the fork frame. A control panel with push-buttons and display zones for controlling and indicating the fork height is located near the driver's seat. A fork-height sensor senses the movement of the fork and delivers corresponding signals. A tilt sensor senses the vertical or tilted-back position of the fork frame and likewise delivers corresponding signals to interrupt the movement of the fork frame. This electronic control unit enables various functions including automatic lifting and lowering of the fork to be carried out.
