The present invention is suitable for the checking of documents in which certain dimensions are prescribed for the text area. By the use of a template in the snap-ring binder or file, the production of the documents is to be facilitated, the dispatch of defective documents avoided, control by the recipients simplified and subsequent revisions avoided. The template consists of a base-plate with a reversible transparent cover on which the borders of the text area are printed or embossed to size. This cover, serving as a template, is fixed on the right-hand side of the base-plate, so that the documents to be checked can be checked before or after filing. Filed documents can be checked in the file or snap-ring binder without removal.
